Who is “Bloody Face?” That’s likely going to be the big question going into the second season of “American Horror Story” now that Ryan Murphy has tweeted a picture of the “character” on set. To the right you can gather an eyeful of Adam Levine and a crude drawing of Bloody Face behind-the-scenes.

The pic was accompanied by the following text: “AHS exclusive: Two of our stars who started shooting today – – the multi-talented @adamlevine and Bloody Face!”

We’ll assume that Bloody Face is this season’s equivalent of the Rubber Man, last season’s mysterious phantom. The new season takes place in a mental institution, so it’s possible that Bloody Face is a patient… or the spirit of one, perhaps. While the Rubber Man’s revelation was ultimately less-than-fulfilling (just this writer’s opinion), Bloody Face could be television’s next big bad boogeyman.

Meanwhile, Adam Levine plays one of “The Lovers,” a couple of characters who are apparently an integral part of the season. Levine’s lover will be played by Jenna Dewan (pictured below). As if this guy didn’t have it good enough…

The show also stars Jessica Lange, James Cromwell, Chris Zylka, Joseph Fiennes, Chloe Sevigny, Clea Duvall, Mark Consuelos, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe and Zachary Quinto.
