FOX's DEADPOOL will start filming next month with visual effects artist Tim Miller (SCOTT PILGRIM  VS. THE WORLD) behind the camera, and star Ryan Reynolds shared a few thoughts on the project in a recent interview with Collider.

Tim Miller is making his feature-length directorial debut with DEADPOOL, and Reynolds says he's very pleased Miller will be helming the comic book movie.

[He’s] always been the right guy. He’s always, you know, shown nothing but a fierce loyalty to the canon of Deadpool and that’s the thing you look for first and foremost, a guy that is always wanting to push a little bit farther. And the advantage of doing a movie like this on a budget that is significantly less than any other kind of superhero movie is that you get to do things that you don’t get to do on other superhero movies so that’s what we’re most excited about.

Does this mean DEADPOOL will be rated R? Here's what Reynolds had to say:

I have no idea … I don’t want to spoil anything so we’ll see. We hope.

The actor also says he'll be doing “Tests. Lots of tests. Lots and lots of tests," in the next few weeks leading up to the production's start date, and at this time, that's all he can say about that.

I promise you, Mr. Reynolds, you're not the only one hoping for an R-rated DEADPOOL. But I think FOX is at least open to the idea since it won't have a huge budget, and it won't be the end of the world if it is PG-13. Deadpool isn't the most known comic book character (which could hurt the movie's box office potential), however more people are aware of him thanks to the M-rated 2013 video game. Although I would be OK with a PG-13 DEADPOOL, I do have my fingers crossed we won't be getting a watered-down version of the comics with the Tim Miller film.

DEADPOOL is scheduled to hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
