Detective Pikachu full movie “leak” is an hour and a half of adorable genius

In the entertainment industry piracy is never a joke, except it totally can be and Ryan Reynolds just made a great one as his new movie POKEMON: DETECTIVE PIKACHU approaches. The voice actor behind the fluffy yellow sleuth took to Twitter to retweet a suspicious account that got ahold of the full movie and leaked it onto YouTube, and in the process included the link to the leaked movie. If you were hoping the movie was just Pikachu being adorable for an hour and 40 minutes, then prepare to have all your wishes granted and then some.

In the actor’s tweet, he alerts Warner Bros. to the issue and the shady account, "Inspector Pikachu", but lets the link sit there waiting to be clicked. When you do, the video starts like any normal WB movie as the logo comes on screen. What follows is something that may be just as good as the movie, which is the CG Pikachu doing what looks like Jane Fonda aerobics for an hour and 42 minutes.

The video was posted yesterday and in that time has amassed almost 5 million views, and has likely tricked anyone looking for a bootleg copy of the movie to watch/redistribute. On top of that, it’s just the cutest thing from start to finish and is totally something you can have playing in the background during any occasion…that or you can send it to people and see who falls for the prank. You've been Pika-rolled!

The movie is already primed to do well at the box office and could even come in at number one for the weekend. The marketing has put Reynolds front and center and played around with the silliness of the premise and the cuddly look of the character. Reynolds himself is no stranger to viral marketing, having been involved with the masterful advertising of the Deadpool movies which made for all sorts of colorful, hilarious ads. DETECTIVE PIKACHU may not make for *as colorful* of ads, but videos like this are certainly better than your average billboard.
