Saban Films to release The Haunting of Sharon Tate, starring Hilary Duff

The Haunting of Sharon Tate Daniel Farrands Hilary Duff

I have some serious misgivings about the upcoming horror film THE HAUNTING OF SHARON TATE, as it seems to be in very poor taste to make a supernatural horror movie out of the tragic 1969 murder of actress Sharon Tate, her unborn child, and her friends at the hands of members of the Manson Family. While the project has even been bashed by Tate's sister Debra, writer/director Daniel Farrands has defended his film, which was apparently inspired by an interview with Tate in which she described a nightmare that, in retrospect, sounds like a premonition of what actually happened to her.

We'll soon have a chance to see what the film is actually like, as the U.S. distribution rights have been acquired by Saban Films.

Saban hasn't offered details on their release plan, but some images from the film have been released online.

Hilary Duff stars as Sharon Tate in THE HAUNTING OF SHARON TATE, which

takes a look at the last days leading up to Sharon Tate's death from her point of view. The plot is inspired by an actual quote from Tate, from an interview published a year before her death, wherein she reveals having dreams about ghosts haunting her house and foreseeing her own death at the hands of a satanic cult.

Duff's co-stars include Jonathan Bennett, Lydia Hearst, Pawel Szajda, Fivel Stewart, Tyler Johnson, Bella Popa, Ryan Cargill, and Ben Mellish.
