Sadistic In Arkansas

What could $30,000 buy you these days? Unfortunately not much. It won’t pay off most student loans. It’ll barely buy you a mid-size car. On the other hand, it would get you three entries into the World Series of Poker. It would also buy you the controlling interest in SADISTIC, a psycho-sexual horror thriller shooting in Arkansas of all places. Obviously low-budget, or it would cost you more.

Now I’m not saying this is going to be a good movie. The director is trying to do the producer/director/writer/actress gig, and that’s rarely a good idea. But here’s the thing. I could be wrong. This could be the EL MARIACHI or RESERVOIR DOGS of independent horror. I doubt it, but who knows. So my point is this…why aren’t the big studios looking for tiny productions to bankroll? Sure they’re going to lose money on most of them. But you could get 33 low-budget flicks at that bargain price for $1 mil, which is less than nothing in the ledgers of Hollywood.

Just get some good people running it, set the damn thing up like a grant program or something, and roll the fucking dice! Take all the good aspects of Project Greenlight and multiply the profit potential.

Just a thought folks.
