Samara warns that she does not forget in new poster for Rings

Back in the 80s, it felt as if Horror film icons were cementing themselves into pop culture at a breakneck pace. It used to be that you couldn’t look at a goalie without thinking of Jason Voorhees, order a pizza without imagining the meatballs as tiny, screaming heads as prepared by Freddy Krueger, or cringe at the lifeless stare of a My Buddy doll without the fear of it going all Chucky on your ass. It’s not easy to create lasting personalities that scare the bejesus out of audiences, though one character that’s managed to plant its freak flag in the hearts and minds of Horror lovers the world over is that time-released, spider web-haired digital menace, Samara of THE RING.

Today, a brand-new poster for F. Javier Gutierrezes RINGS has arrived to warn us all that Samara does not forget, and she’s coming back!

For those of you who need a refresher about this project, here is the official synopsis for the latest upcoming film in the RING franchise which stars Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan:

A new chapter in the beloved RING horror franchise. A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before …

RINGS will creep its way into theaters on February 3, 2017.
