Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury won’t show up in Avengers: Infinity War

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Not going to lie, as great as the latest MCU movies have been, there's been a glowering, eye-patched hole in them. And that's because Samuel L. Jackson's great turn as the super spy hasn't been involved in any of them. And that fact has not been lost on Jackson himself.

Here's Jackson's direct quote from an interview with Yahoo! News on the subject:

I wasn’t in the ‘superhero argument’ movie [‘Captain America: Civil War’], I’m not in ‘Avengers 3 and 4’. They’re shooting them now, and they haven’t called me yet…They wouldn’t let me go to ‘Black Panther’-ville, so it’s kinda like how you gonna make a black Marvel movie and not let Nick Fury show up in it?!

He makes a good point about not being in either film (especially the "superhero argument" one). However, I get why Fury wasn't in those. For one, to everyone that matters he's supposed to be dead, and secondly, those movies look cramped as it is. At least we'll see him next in CAPTAIN MARVEL…so that's something! And he won't even have to wear the eye-patch!

Meanwhile, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR will come out next summer May 4th, 2018, while CAPTAIN MARVEL will fly into theaters March 8th, 2019.
