Sansa & Jon will have a power struggle in season 7 of Game of Thrones

The children of Eddard (Sean Bean) and Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) have been scattered across Westeros since the first season of Game of Thrones, but the last season of the HBO series finally saw two of those children reunite. Unfortunately, the reunion between Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) wasn't all sunshine and manticore farts. Despite joining forces to take down Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) and reclaim Winterfell, there was a little sibling rivalry between the pair as each had a clear vision for how to proceed and a desire to rule.

As Kit Harington tells Entertainment Weekly, the sibling rivalry between Jon and Sansa will only intensify.

There is definite tension between them right from the first scene. There are the same problems — she questions his decisions and command; he doesn’t listen to her. But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we’ll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling.

Who knows just how far or how dark the power struggle between the two will get, but as this is Game of Thrones we're talking about, I suppose anything is possible. As the past few seasons have been steadily thinning the herd of main characters, Kit Harington says that the remaining actors all get a "bigger slice of the pie." As for Jon Snow, Harington says that the upcoming seventh season will find his character much more sure of himself and his abilities.

It’s a nice change for me this season, he talks more, he’s more sure of himself. He doesn’t just know what he’s got to do but he’s more sure of what he’s saying — whereas before there was always some fear and doubt. I’ve gotten to enjoy not just grunting.

Game of Thrones will return to HBO on July 16th.
