We just received a sweet heads-up from director, James Felix McKenney on his horrifying, religious-themed outing, SATAN HATES YOU. The flick is becoming a veritable “circus of the genre stars”! Check out the list of sickly seasoned pros who have just joined the cast that already includes horror hellions Angus Scrimm and Reggie Bannister from the PHANTASM films, Larry Fessenden from MULBERRY STREET, and Christine Spencer from AUTOMATONS:

The delectable Debbie Rochon (below) who has appeared in over 150 films genre-centric films from TROMEO AND JULIET to BIKINI BLOODBATH (a personal fave). She recently spoke with Fango regarding her feelings toward the new SATAN role: “This will be a unique film which will have it’s own special message for many people out there that are looking for something new. It’s also been a dream to work not only on a project that includes Angus Scrimm and Reggie Bannister, the two lead actors from the PHANTASM film series, but also our New York indie film hero Larry Fessenden who is no stranger to making horror movies with messages himself!”

Plus, Michael Berryman of the original HILLS HAVE EYES as well as THE DEVIL’S REJECT has signed on too, calling the script “A lot of fun”! He will be playing the role of an eccentric innkeeper which he describes as “Smart and clever.”

Author Max Brooks of WORLD WAR Z (which is on its way to becoming a film) is even getting in on the acting fun.

Director McKenney had this to say, regarding his group of actors: “This is by far the largest cast that I’ve ever worked with and we’re not through adding people! Luckily we have a lot of friends on board as well as actors who are known for being easy to work with and for being real team players.”

Inspired by films from the late 60’s and early 70’s golden age of religious “scare” cinema, SATAN HATES YOU is a graphic horror film that tells the stories of two individuals and their personal struggles with Lucifer himself. Shooting is scheduled to be finished in late June with a 2009 release.
