We heard from writer/director Lennie Overgaard today, he of Savage Dog Films and RIP CAGE fame, to tell us about his latest horror flick, which is scheduled to start filming this June.
It’s called SERAPHIM (previously titled CROWBAR), and goes a little something like this:
“As a group of teenagers go camping in the woods, they unexpectedly
stumble
upon a frightening find. A skeleton with an unnatural resemblence of an
angel.
As the night falls, everything goes awry and they find themselves
waking up
with horrible scars everywhere. Body parts are missing and all of their
worst nightmares are starting to come true.
Days pass by and their chances of surviving decrease day by day. They
are
now stuck on front row seats to experience the world come to an
unimaginable end. This won’t stop until all of the demons have been
sent
back to hell. An epic battle between good and evil, which side are you
on?”
The other working title for this flick was THE BLAIRWITCH PROJECT 3. Just kidding. But come on, doesn’t that story sound just a tad bit familiar? And what the hell does SERAPHIM mean, anyway? Well according to my bud Johnny Butane over at Dread Central, Seraphim is the first of the nine orders of angels in medieval angelology. Shit… and why didn’t I think of that!
Overgaard is writing the screenplay, and directing the flick alongside Christoffer Rosander- not sure who that dude is, but he’s co-directing the flick! They expect the film to be released by the end of the year, but as they don’t start filming until mid June, I’m guessing early 2007 here. Stay tuned for more info. as we hear it- let’s hope the cast is full of hotties like these!
