Saw VII 3D officially scores a rating by the MPAA, guess what it is?

In what may be the earliest MPAA rating announcement ever, considering we’re a whopping 4 months (give or take) away from the film’s theatrical release, the seventh installment of the SAW series has officially been slapped with a rating. And I bet you have an idea of what it is…

SAW VII 3D has officially been rated R for sequences of grisly bloody violence and torture, and language. Surprised, aren’t you? Well, you shouldn’t be. What is surprising is that it’s rated so damn early, which means the film is (more or less) complete enough to screen for the MPAA. Didn’t they just wrap filming a couple months back? Talk about quickest turn-around for a movie ever… let’s hope that’s not a bad sign.

Having the traps displayed in the third dimension has me pretty excited…. at least they can say we haven’t seen it that way before in any of the six prior films, right? I am a little disappointed that there’s no nudity this time around, but if there was, it wouldn’t be the fun kind, so I guess I’m kinda grateful at the same time.

See SAW VII 3D, in all of its R rated glory, in theaters everywhere October 22, 2010.
