Say what? Ghostbusters 3 moves forward with new writing staff?

F*ckin’ hell, GHOSTBBUSTERS 3 is harder to kill than Seagal!

Painfully dated reference aside, it now seems Columbia is forging ahead with GB3, going so far as to assign new writers to the long-gestating Ivan Reitman sequel. Makes sense, as Bill Murray, whom I sure hope never agrees to partake in such a venal project, admitted to David Letterman last month that a new draft was being written.

Now, Dan Aykroyd has told ABC News that said draft is being written by a whole new team. Previous scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, the brains behind such winners as THE BIG YEAR and BAD TEACHER, have apparently been shown the boot. The new staff hasn’t been identified.

Here’s what Danny boy had to say:

“[We have a] new writing staff working on it now. It’s got to be perfect. That’s the whole thing. There’s no point in doing it unless it’s perfect.”

Perfect? Perfect. Integrity’s as rare as a four leaf clover in this biz, I really wish Bill Murray keeps his word and never, repeat never, obliges to do this movie, even in a 2 minute cameo. Stay strong Bill, there’s many of us on your side.

Are you one, or do you want to see GHOSTBUSTERS 3 get made after-all?

Now there’s a movie I’d see!
