Scarlet Witch: Kevin Feige thinks Elizabeth Olsen has more spells to cast in the MCU

Elizabeth Olsen‘s Scarlet Witch is one of the most potent and tragic characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plagued by a shattered childhood, responsible for the loss of innocent lives in Sokovia, forced to terminate Vision in Avengers: Endgame, and warden of a town trapped by magic, the Scarlet Witch is a force of nature. After being imprisoned during the finale of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel fans assumed they’d seen the last of Wanda for quite some time. According to Marvel mastermind Kevin Feige, Wanda could bring more toil and trouble to the MCU in the coming years.

Variety recently printed an expose focusing on Olsen and touched on her time as a prominent part of the MCU. While the piece delves into several of Wanda’s misdeeds, the writing also looks toward the character’s future. Feige also contributed to Variety‘s expose, revealing that “there’s more to explore” with Wanda as the Marvel Universe marches on.

“She’s incredibly humble and incredibly down-to-earth,” Feige said about Olsen. “And yet when those cameras roll, it’s a force of nature.” Regarding Wanda’s future? “There really is so much more to explore,” Feige hinted. “We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics.”

One fan theory involves the Scarlet Witch escaping before being buried at Wundagore Mountain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. If you watch closely, we don’t see Wanda’s body become a victim of the falling rubble. “I don’t know that we saw her under rubble?” Feige all but winked. “I saw a tower coming down, and a little red flash. I don’t know what that means.”

“I’d work with Lizzie for another 100 years if we could,” Feige added. “Anything’s possible in the multiverse! We’ll have to see.” Oh, Feige, you tease! Spill the beans, man! We know you’ve got them!

Good luck if you’re hoping for Olsen to reveal Wanda’s fate. Olsen is well-acquainted with Marvel’s tight-lip policy about sharing spoilers, and this woman is a rock. “I really don’t know my future,” Olsen said. “There’s nothing that has been agreed on.” Olsen also told Variety she’d like to see Wanda redeemed but has no idea how they would do this after all the damage she caused. Of course, another direction would be to make Wanda an all-out villain, though I don’t know how that will sit with die-hard fans. We’ll have to see what happens with the MCU’s mutants eventually getting out of control. Wanda may have to clean house if you catch my drift.

What do you think about Wanda eventually returning to the MCU? Do you believe Feige has a plan? Where would you like to see Wanda end up? Let us know in the comments.
