As Jake to the D told y’all just yesterday, UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: A NEW DIMENSION is set to commence filming in Baton Rouge, Louisiana within the next few weeks. While a casting call was recently put out looking for bad mofo’s to fill out the extra rolls, one particular man of action is a sure thing to join the fray.
Scott Adkins (UNDISPUTED 2 and 3, WOLVERINE) announced via Twitter that he’s ready to rumble with the big boys. His simple tweet: Getting on a plane to go and make Universal Soldier 4 with Dolph & JC.
That’s right, Adkins will be joining Dolph Lundgren and Jesus Christ in the John Hyams film! (Okay, so it’s Jean-Claude Van Damme, real big difference…) He’ll also reteam with his UNDISPUTED 2 co-star Michael Jai White, who is also attached to the new UNIVERSAL SOLDIER. Pretty hardcore group, right there.
Plot details are thin, but here’s a synopsis I dredged up (no telling how accurate it is, so take with a grain of salt): In a world without government, surviving Unisols (Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren) must battle anarchy and build a new order ruled by Unisols, weeding out the weak and testing their strongest warriors in brutal, life-and-death combat.
