The rules of surviving a horror film are about to become increasingly important all over again as production has wrapped on Scream, which is the upcoming fifth film in the franchise! The film's co-director Tyler Gillet recently took to Instagram to let fans know that the upcoming sequel is "picture locked," meaning that the final edit for the film is finally complete. The post includes a photo of Fox's Newman Scoring Stage, where the monitors and boards are alive with the sound of screams.

The process of making Scream has been a challenging one for all involved. There's a lot of secrecy associated with the film, and the last thing anyone wants is for spoiler-related information to leak out. Remember, all it takes is one crafty troll to ruin the surprises for everyone.

Scream  sees several members of the franchise's main cast returning, including Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. As a bonus, Roger L. Jackson will once again provide the voice of Ghostface. Other members of the cast include Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Kyle Gallner, Marley Shelton, Mason Gooding, Dylan Minnette, Mickey Madison, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.

While the film is now set in stone, fans will still have to wait until January 14, 2022, until Scream opens in theaters.
