Scream Bloody Murder: Scout Taylor-Compton stars in Shawn C Phillips slasher

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

After racking up more than 250 screen acting credits over the course of fourteen years, Shawn C. Phillips – who also has a popular YouTube channel under the name Coolduder – is set to make his feature directorial debut with the slasher Scream Bloody Murder. Scout Taylor-Compton, who has some experience being a slasher heroine, has signed on to star in the film.

A synopsis for Scream Bloody Murder was not included in the press release, but it does say that the movie will be in the vein of '90s films like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Phillips also provided the following quote:

It’s going to be a love letter to '90s slasher films in the style of Scream. The movie will also have elements of films like Mean Girls, as well as Revenge of the Nerds. So it will have some humor mixed in as well."

Robert LaSardo, James Duval, Vernon Wells, Kelly Reiter, and Lauren Francesca are also in the cast.

A collaboration between Safier Entertainment, PhilaDreams Films, and Cult Cinema LLC, Scream Bloody Murder is being produced by Jared Safier, Thomas Walton, Johnny Hickey, and editor Navid Sanati. Julie Anne Prescott serves as co-producer, with Will Collazo Jr. executive producing.

Scream Bloody Murder is scheduled to begin filming in May.
