New Scream movie’s Dolby poster was inspired by a fan-made image

Earlier this week, we saw what was referred to as the final poster for the new Scream movie… but now another poster has arrived online, this one for the film’s Dolby Cinema release. The Dolby Cinema poster can be seen below, and if it looks familiar to you that’s because it was inspired by a fan-made poster that Creepy Duck Design posted online about a year and a half ago. The Dolby Cinema poster was created in partnership with that artist. It’s cool that they took note of that piece of fan art and worked with the artist to make it an official poster.

The new Scream reaches theatres on January 14, 2022. This “legacy-quel” is coming to us from Ready or Not (watch it HERE) directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The screenplay was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Vanderbilt also produced the film for Project X Entertainment, alongside Paul Neinstein and William Sherak. Chad Villella, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena serve as executive producers alongside original Scream writer Kevin Williamson.

The film has the following synopsis:

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
