Scream Factory reveals killer April Fool’s Day cover art

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

WHEN A STRANGER CALLS director Fred Walton's clever 1986 slasher film APRIL FOOL'S DAY starring Deborah Foreman (VALLEY GIRL), Amy Steel (FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2), and Thomas F. Wilson (BACK TO THE FUTURE Trilogy) is one of my favorite underappreciated flicks.

Scream Factory will be unleashing the slasher classic onto Collector's Edition Blu-ray next Spring, and today we have the new edition's killer cover art for you to check out. Give it a look-see below. On top of the newly-commissioned "doll-ed" up artwork by Yannick Bouchard, Scream Factory also updated on some other aspects of their release. First, it will be hitting in March 2020 and while new extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date they confirmed that several cast and crew are already on board and they plan to load the release up as much as possible.

For those of you out there that don't know, the film centers on

A group of college students who decide to spend spring break at the secluded island estate of their wealthy classmate, Muffy St. John (Deborah Foreman). But what starts out as a fun, hedonistic weekend turns into something more sinister. Muffy is very fond of practical jokes, and sets up numerous gags throughout her mansion. But, when friends begin going missing and turn up dead, they realize that they're trapped on the isolated isle with a mysterious and brutal killer.

Fred Walton (WHEN A STRANGER CALLS) directed APRIL FOOL'S DAY from a screenplay written by Danilo Bach (BEVERLY HILLS COP). Frank Mancuso, Jr. produced and the flick featured Deborah Foreman (VALLEY GIRL), Amy Steel (FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2), and Thomas F. Wilson (BACK TO THE FUTURE Trilogy) along with Deborah Goodrich, Ken Olandt, Griffin O'Neal, Leah King Pinsent, Clayton Rohner, and Jay Baker.

Paramount unleashed the underappreciated slasher back on March 27, 1986. Meanwhile, this new Collector's Edition Blu-ray hits on March 24, 2020.
