Scream Queens rebooting coming soon?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

I have a difficult relationship with Ryan Murphy's (AMERICAN HORROR STORY) slasher-comedy series SCREAM QUEENS. I loved the first season with all my heart… until the final episode hit and ruined it all with a truly terrible finale. Sure I watched season 2 and enjoyed bits and pieces here and there, but I think by that point the series was all but ruined in my eyes. And so today's news divides me. It turns out Murphy is playing around with the idea of rebooting the short-lived series… and I don't know if I should be excited or not.

Murphy took to Instagram to let fans know that he is currently toying around with the idea of either rebooting the show as a six-episode limited series or a catch-up movie. And he wants to know what YOU think! Specifically, Murphy writes:

So many people recently have been asking me about rebooting or continuing SCREAM QUEENS (RIP, taken too soon). Emma, Billie, Lea and I have mused on it, but question: should it be a six-episode limited? A catch-up movie? Who should I bring back? Would love your thoughts. So many questions…

Personally, the only way I'd be interested in seeing SCREAM QUEENS continue is if they did a six-episode limited revival series that took the show's plot back to Kappa House and Grace's storyline. I swear there's a bigger mystery there and I need to know if I'm right. Hopefully, this happens for no other reason than I'll be able to sleep a little better on those cold, strange nights when the terrible finale of the first season creeps back into my consciousness. Fingers crossed. So which would you rather see (if either) a six-episode limited series or a SCREAM QUEENS "catch-up" movie?

Let us know below!

Meanwhile, here's the synopsis for season 1:

The girls of Kappa Tau have left the hallowed halls of Wallace University behind in favor of another institution, this one with a medical bent. Having moved past the events at their sorority house, the remaining Chanels and Zayday have begun training to be physicians in a hospital recently acquired by Cathy Munsch, their former dean, where they are joined by Chad Radwell, and a couple handsome new faces — secretive head surgeon Dr. Brock Holt and Dr. Cassidy Cascade, who suffers from a strange medical condition. As strange things start happening around the hospital, the former Wallace students reunite with intrepid investigator Denise Hemphill.

SCREAM QUEENS was written and created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan and starred Emma Roberts, Skyler Samuels, Glen Powell, Diego Boneta, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Oliver Hudson, Nasim Pedrad, Billie Lourd, Niecy Nash, Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande, Kirstie Alley, Taylor Lautner, John Stamos, Jerry O'Connell, and Jamie Lee Curtis as Dean Munsch.
