Scream: The Series returns in May with several new characters

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

I haven't yet watched the first season of Scream: The TV Series, the MTV show inspired by the SCREAM films, but given the nature of the SCREAM property I would assume that a good amount of its characters didn't make it to the end of the finale. So it's not all that surprising that the second season is going to be adding a bunch of new recurring characters.

Joining returning actors Willa Fitzgerald, John Karna, Tom Maden, Tracy Middendorf, Amadeus Serafini, Bex Taylor-Klaus and Carlson Young are Kiana Lede as driven overachiever Zoe; Santiago Segura as dark and brooding outsider/artist Gustavo, who is deeply into horror, serial killers, and comic books; Anthony Ruivivar as Gustavo's father Sheriff Michael Acosta; Austin Highsmith as high school psychology teacher Karen Lang; Sean Grandillo as Eli, whose squaky clean image may be hiding ulterior motives; and Karina Logue as proper, polite, self-reliant Tina Hudson.

Season two begins with

Emma's return to Lakewood after several months at a retreat, where she tried to recover from the horrors of last season.

The late Wes Craven will still have an executive producer credit on the series. The other executive producers are Michael Gans and Richard Register (who are also serving as the showrunners), Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena, and Cathy Konrad. Matthew Signer and Keith Levine are producing.

Scream: The TV Series season two will make its premiere on MTV on Tuesday, May 31st.
