Video Interview! Simon Barrett talks about his directorial debut Seance

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Simon Barrett came to fame writing the genre challenging You're Next. Often described as the quintessential horror movie for millennials, it brought a wit and meta spin on the home invasion subgenre. Close friends with Adam Wingard, the two have made quite the deadly duo with projects like The Guest, Blair Witch, and, of course, You're Next. Though he has directed a few shorts prior, most notably the excellent horror anthology V/H/S and V/H/S/ 2, the writer has decided to tackle his first feature film in the director's chair with Seance.

We were lucky enough to sit down with Simon via Zoom and discuss Seance, which hits theaters, On Demand, and digital this Friday, May 21st. Check out the interview above, and don't forget to sound off below in the comments.

Seance is written and directed by Simon Barrett and stars Suki Waterhouse, Madisen Beaty, Inanna Sarkis, Stephanie Sy, and has the following synopsis:

Camille, a young woman who arrives at the Fairfield Academy following one of the student's untimely and violent death.

Seance Haunts Theaters, On Demand and Digital Friday, May 21st, 2021.
