Deadline reports that a sequel to the found footage – or "Screen Life" – horror-thriller Searching, originally starring John Chu, is getting a sequel. Luckily, instead of putting Chu's bereaved father improbably dealing with yet another kidnapping or something, the sequel will instead, according to Deadline:
Searching 2‘s plot is still under wraps, but it will feature a new set of characters and an evolved Screenlife thriller format where the story plays out on the screens of the characters’ devices.

David Kim becomes desperate when his 16-year-old daughter, Margot, disappears and an immediate police investigation leads nowhere. He soon decides to search the one place that no one else has: Margot's laptop.
