Season 4 of Netflix’s Stranger Things may resume production next week

The Netflix series Stranger Things was just weeks into filming its fourth season when the pandemic hit and most productions around the world had to shut down. This lengthy break did allow the show's writers to complete the scripts for every episode of the season, but now Netflix is figuring out when they'll be able to start filming those episodes. According to Deadline, they may have figured out a production re-start date… and it's only a week away.

Having shut down on March 13th, production on Stranger Things season 4 may resume in Georgia on September 28th.

Actor Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin on the show, turned 18 while waiting for filming to resume. Before his birthday arrived, he said,

I am so excited to finally get to experience filming the show without dealing with school. I always love filming the show anyway and I always made sure that school was the number one priority … but now, especially because I'm about to be 18, there are no more rules [for filming]. By the time I go back to filming, I turn 18 in the beginning of September … and at that point, because of the pandemic, we might not be back into filming. So I'll be 18 and they can keep me as long as they need me without any time caps."

Stranger Things season 4 finds that David Harbour's character Hopper is

imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other.

Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything.

Before the shutdown, the show had been filming Hopper-related scenes in Lithuania for a couple weeks.

In addition to Harbour and Matarazzo, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, Brett Gelman, and Maya Hawke are also back for season 4.

I hope filming will be able to safely resume next week, because I'm really looking forward to watching another season of Stranger Things.
