Many of us know all about Santa Claus, thanks to childhoods filled with creepy stop-motion animated Rankin Bass holiday specials.
Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander seems to have more sinister ideas behind Father Christmas, judging by this teaser for his upcoming horror-comedy RARE EXPORTS. An expansion of his own 2003 short film (also below), the movie seems to involve the literal unearthing of the legendary Santa himself. It’s probably safe to assume this Santa won’t be too jolly.
