In a weird twist of fate, I’m busting two stories in one day on flicks with the number nine in the title. Not only that, this next flick is literally called NUMBER 9. Weird shite!
Actually the Thai horror film of mention also has the title SECRET SUNDAY attached to it, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see which heading prevails. What we won’t have to wait for is the plot of the damn film, which follows:
At his mother’s request, Nat, a young architect, unwillingly takes a journey to visit 9 different temples in order to clean up his bad karma. He is accompanied by Poon, his beautiful columnist girlfriend and Sujitto, a young monk who takes care of the Tripitaka house and is responsible for the chant to chase away the bad karma.
All three characters have different purposes for taking this trip, but later on they discover that they are put together for an unforeseeable reason. A karma committed by one person could relate to karma of others. Horrifying acts done in their previous lives reveal themselves as the journey goes by. The more they try to clean up Nat’s bad karmas by making a merit, the closer they get to “THEM.”
The journey has changed their faith forever. How is Nat going to clean up his own mess? Would Nat be forgiven? How can an act of making the merit overcome the relentless vengeance?
A Karmic horror picture with a girlfriend named Poon? Groovy!
The flick, which is currently in production, is written and directed by Saranyoo Jiralak (PIZZA, NANG NAK), and stars James Alexander and Siraphun Wattanajinda.
I hope they bring Thai hottie Natthaweeranuch Thongmee (SHUTTER) aboard to play, uh, Poon!
