See Objective

An interesting new flick is heading our way from Daniel Myrick, the writer/director behind THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. It’s called THE OBJECTIVE and it will also be screening alongside LET THE RIGHT ONE IN and KILLER MOVIE at this month’s Tribeca Film Festival. The flick has a cool (and rare) horror/sci-fi/war edge to it. Have a look at the synopsis as Myrick moves from the “witchy” woods to the barren desert:

A group of Special Ops Reservists on a mission to track down a supposed WMD in the harsh and hostile terrain of Afghanistan find themselves lost in a Middle Eastern “Bermuda Triangle” of ancient evil. It then turns out that the object in question is a UFO/sentient being that is attacking all who come near it out of self defense. This new force on Earth appears to be totally unstoppable, and with no way to communicate with it, who knows if it is a threat or not?

Sounds very interesting and original. I heard it’s already getting some pretty positive buzz, so I’m guessing a wider release may be blasting our way soon. Plus, Myrick will be using a special IR camera which should provide an extra eerie image of the mysterious entity. Works for me! The flick stars Vanessa Johansson (Scarlett’s older sis, both are below!), Michael C. Williams, Jon Huertas, Jonas Ball, P. David Miller, Matthew R. Anderson, Sam Hunter, and Jacqueline Harris.
