To say that Stephen Colbert is a J.R.R. Tolkein fan would be something of an understatement. He's been a huge fan since his youth and much like his love for STAR WARS (see his awesome nerdy ways here), his love for all things Tolkein is well established. Peter Jackson even heard about it and brought Colbert and his family to New Zealand for a cameo THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG! He also hosted The Hobbit panel at this year's Comic-Con and managed to wow some hardcore fans.
EW rightfully gave Colbert the spotlight this week, and not because The Colbert Report airs its final episode on December 18, but because who better than Colbert to help close out the Middle-Earth saga?
