Looks like Chucky claimed one more belated victim this weekend. Once final box office figures for the weekend came in, SEED OF CHUCKY sliced past BRIDGET JONES: THE EDGE OF REASON to take the number four spot.
Certainly it’s not the type of stellar performance turned in by recent horror heavyweights THE GRUDGE and SAW, but for a low-cost franchise sequel, distributor Focus Features is more than satisfied. No doubt they are nearly salivating over the bucks they’ll make off the eventual DVD, and with any luck, we’ll soon be looking at pre-production news on PUPPY OF CHUCKY, staring Coolio.
