Variety reported today that Warner Bros. picked up the movie rights for the soon to be released novel CARPE DEMON: ADVENTURES OF A DEMON-HUNTING SOCCER MOM.
Written by Julie Kenner, the book’s about a suburban mom with a demon slaying past who comes to the town’s rescue by battling monsters that show up looking for trouble. Er, ok…
Chris Columbus (HARRY POTTER) and 1492 Pictures have plans to produce the adaptation, with Kevin and Dan Hageman translating the book to the big screen.
Let’s see, soccer mom’s are hot, so that’s definately a plus… but it almost sounds like BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: 15 YEARS LATER. Hard to tell, as the book doesn’t hit shelves until July. It’ll probably be funny, and as long as they don’t try to pull a GHOST DAD or a SHE-DEVIL on us, I think it’ll be aight.
Teri Hatcher may be one of the hottest Soccer Mom’s I know…
