Seth Rogen and Jessica Chastain eyed for roles in Danny Boyle’s Jobs

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

With Christian Bale in place in the title role, Danny Boyle‘s Steve Jobs biopic, apparently titled JOBS just like the Ashton Kutcher film from 2013, is looking to fill out the supporting vast with some recognizable faces. While Variety reports that Seth Rogen has officially joined the cast as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, The Wrap says that Jessica Chastain is being pursued for an undisclosed role in the film.

Wozniak was previously played by Josh Gad in the 2013 take on Steve Jobs’ life. It seems like this could be Rogen’s equivalent role to his buddy Jonah Hill‘s Oscar-nominated turn in MONEYBALL. Rogen has not taken a true dramatic role before and what better place to start than opposite Oscar-winner Christian Bale, Oscar winner Danny Boyle, and Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain?

Per Sorkin, the screenplay is designed as “three long scenes, each taking place backstage before one of Apple’s famous product launches.” That would definitely give the film a unique spin compared to other biopics. If the cast keeps expanding with this kind of talent, JOBS will easily make everyone forget about the forgettable Ashton Kutcher movie we have already forgotten about.

JOBS currently has no production or release date scheduled, but stay tuned.
