Today comes word on a flick heading our way that’s just oozing with potential. Before I go on let me just drop the word that this new project is actually based on a comic, so take that for what it’s worth. In recent history it’s seemed like graphic novel adaptations have actually been pretty amazing so as they say.. When in Rome.
With that being said, Bloody-Disgusting just dropped the word that Jack Reher has just been tapped with the task of adapting Jon Vinson’s graphic novel EDGE OF THE UNKNOWN. Damn… that title alone is pretty badass so you can go ahead and sign me up already! Nevermind the fact that this thing is being described as SEVEN meets a supernatural CHINATOWN..
EDGE OF THE UNKNOWN is apparently going out to directors as we speak so we should be hearing more on the this one soon. In the meantime scope out the synopsis:
An older Harry Houdini, past his prime, is dealing with one failure after another. Arthur Conan Doyle, known for creating “the world’s greatest detective”, sits in at a seance and believes every moment of it. They were friends once… Now, after a number of young girls have been found dead, Houdini is drawn into investigating the murders. Knowing he won’t be able to do it alone, Houdini asks his old friend, Doyle, for help. What they find will shock and disturb and leave a lasting impression on both of them.
Not too shabby right? Hit us with your thoughts on EDGE OF THE UNKNOWN below and keep it here for more on the project as we hear it!
