What would you do if you could stop time each time you orgasmed? If your response is to rob banks, then you might be interested in Prime Video’s new series based on the acclaimed Sex Criminals comic by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky.
All About the Sex Criminals TV Series
Prime Video has ordered an eight-episode series adaptation of Sex Criminals, with Kumail Nanjiani, Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick) and Tze Chun (Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai) set as co-creators. Nanjiani will also appear in the series.
The official logline reads: “Suze is a normal girl with an extraordinary ability: when she has sex, she stops time. One night, she meets Jon…who has the same gift. And so they do what any other sex having, time stopping couple would do: they rob banks.“
Nanjiani and Gordon are executive producing under their Winter Coat Films banner, along with Dani Melia. Chun is also an executive producer, as are comic creators Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky. LuckyChap is producing the series with the company’s Dani Gorin executive producing and Louie Hayes producing.
The comic was first published in 2013 and earned two Eisner Award nominations. A previous TV series adaptation was in the works at Universal Television a decade ago, but the project was scrapped.
