Shadowed: New short film from Lights Out director David F. Sandberg

LIGHTS OUT, ANNABELLE: CREATION, and SHAZAM! director David F. Sandberg is not letting self-imposed isolation get to him. In fact, the Swedish filmmaker just reteamed with his original LIGHTS OUT actress (and wife) Lotta Losten and posted an all-new killer short film over on YouTube.

It's called SHADOWED and it centers on a woman who discovers that mysterious shadows lurking around her house may be out to kill her. It's a freaky 3 minutes to be sure. Better yet, Sandberg calls it a companion piece to LIGHTS OUT and he advises us to watch it loud and in the dark. Nice.

Sandberg's LIGHTS OUT centers on

Rebecca (Teresa Palmer) who thought that her childhood fears were behind her. As a young girl growing up, she was never really sure of what was real when the lights went out at night. Now, her little brother Martin (Gabriel Bateman) is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that jeopardized her safety and sanity. Holding a mysterious attachment to their mother (Maria Bello), a supernatural entity has returned with a vengeance to torment the entire family.

Rated PG-13 for terror throughout, violence including disturbing images, some thematic material and brief drug content, LIGHTS OUT sports a 76% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Lights Out makes skillful use of sturdy genre tropes — and some terrific performances — for an unsettling, fright-filled experience that delivers superior chills without skimping on story. BUY IT HERE.
