About six weeks ago the good news came in that Matt Reeves (LET ME IN, CLOVERFIELD) had been chosen to helm THE TWILIGHT ZONE remake for Warner Bros. and Appian Way. Well, looks like a high-profile scribe has been brought in to tidy up a bit.

Word from Variety is SHERLOCK HOLMES and INVICTUS scribe Tony Peckham has been hired to retool THE TWILIGHT ZONE script Jason Rothenberg turned in. No word if it’ll be a complete overhaul or a mere touchup job, but Warner has a good enough track record with Peckham (BOOK OF ELI) to lend him good faith.

As irksome as it sounds, TWILIGHT ZONE is being remolded as not an anthology, but as a single-story tentpole. Hopefully this Peckham cat is familiar with the original movie and doesn’t veer too far from what made that movie so good. Ya dig?
