A crapload of new images from SHUTTER ISLAND surfaced online today, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio on that crazed island of his, chillin’ out with the likes of Sir Ben Kingsley, Mark Ruffalo, and director Martin Scorsese.
For a film opening in October, one with such star power and directorial talent, I’m surprised we haven’t seen more coming from this flick than just a few posters and the kick-ass trailer. But hey, why put all that money into pimping this movie when names like DiCaprio and Scorsese will being people in no matter what.
The new images are pretty cool, and leave you with the same mysterious detective story feel that the trailer left you with. In summary, SHUTTER ISLAND is a drama set in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island
From everything I’ve seen so far (which hasn’t really been all that much), this flick practically bleeds awesomeness. Enjoy the new images below, and get ready for SHUTTER ISLAND in theaters October 2nd.
