Here’s some good ol’ fashion Canadian low-budget horror for ya! Director Lee Demarbre (helmer of the instant classic JESUS CHRIST VAMPIRE HUNTER, right) is poised to present to us his next genre masterpiece entitled SMASH CUT. And get this: the man has just scored his leading lady in the form of seasoned porn star and the 2008 Adult Video Network female performer of the year, Sasha Grey (GRAND THEFT ANAL 11, HOUSE OF ASS 7)!
Grey (below) will be playing a TV news personality who goes undercover as an actress in a horror film to discover the killer of her older sister, a stripper. Sounds ideal to me! Now get ready for a (sad) twist to this story. Demarbre insists his movie has no nudity or sex, and Grey will remain fully clothed throughout. “The only penetration is by knives and axes,” he said. What the hell?! Doesn’t this guy know the rules for the horror genre? I mean, he’s Canadian so he must know of this website. Plus, obviously Ms. Grey has no aversions about showing the goods. Why not take advantage? However, I do like his little “penetration” reference.
SMASH CUT will also co-star B-movie legends David Hess (LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT), Michael Berryman (THE HILLS HAVE EYES) Ray Sager (THE WIZARD OF GORE) and director-turned-actor Herschell Gordon Lewis (BLOOD FEAST, 2001 MANIACS). The flick is looking to release first on the festival circuit ahead of a theatrical run in 2009.
