This here is yet another fun-sounding horror anthology! And let me tell you, they had me at that poster up top; eerily excellent work! As you can already tell, the flick is entitled SLICES (nice idea!) and it is featuring FIVE unique horror tales from five different directors. I believe it’s being touted as sort of a TWILIGHT ZONE meets CREEPSHOW hybrid. Want to know the plot of each tale? Well, either way, I’m listing ’em below. So, hopefully, enjoy:
1. THE EXTERMINATOR, directed by Vito Trabucco, centers on a big business CEO who gets kidnapped and tortured by one of his own henchmen.
2. THE RANGE, directed by Lance Polland, is a period piece set in the Old West. It features three Confederate soldiers on the run who come face to face with flesh-eating zombies.
3. TURNOUT, directed by Lenny Lenox, is about a young couple and their friend who are hiking in the mountains when they start getting killed off by a madman.
4. NIGHT SCREAM, directed by Neil McCurry, is the tale of a bloodthirsty female vampire who stumbles upon a house full of unsuspecting college kids.
5. DEAD LETTERS, directed by Steven Richards, is a yarn about a book author who still carries a torch for his dead wife, and discovers a way to reanimate her when he receives a mysterious package in the mail.
Is it just me or does each of those tales sound like an amusingly diverse slice o’ horror? And we’re getting all of this in one movie! That’s one helluva bargain! They’ve even scored a cast that includes some genre faves like Trent Haaga (GIMME SKELTER), Chuck Williams (BUBBA HO-TEP), David C. Hayes (MACHINED), and Death Metal Hall-of-Famer Matt Olivo.
