Zack Snyder, he who recently rocked us with 300, was first known as ‘that a-hole who’s remaking DAWN OF THE DEAD‘ a few years back. He was ‘that a-hole’ until the remake came out and blew us all away. He then went from a remaking bastard, to one smooth director who knew his shit when it came to zombie films.
According to Variety, Snyder’s jumping back in the zombie game, this time producing an original zombie feature that he wrote called ARMY OF THE DEAD for Warner Bros! And check out this synopsis: Set in a quarantined Las Vegas in the not-too-distant future, “Army” revolves around a father who tries to save his daughter from imminent death in a zombie-infested world. Very nice!
Though it’s unclear if this will by Snyder’s follow-up directing vehicle after THE WATCHMEN, he was quoted in saying that there hasn’t been a zombie movie on the scale that we want to do [this in], and considers it be ‘epic’ ala 300, in both style and scale. You heard that right: another epic zombie film from Zack Snyder. Hold onto your butts, cause that shit’s gonna be tight!!!
Seriously though, after the grand achievement of 300, as well as changing every horror-lover’s mind at the thought of a remake of a George A. Romero classic, the fact that he wants to rock the zombies again on a much larger scale just made my morning. As long as I don’t do anything for the rest of the day, my entire day will be complete.
