Solar Opposites season two teaser blasts off with alien hijinks

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Wanting to leave the planet? That's a little far-fetched. We're doing…we're doing fine here. Yep. While we still don't know when the fifth season of Rick and Morty will debut, we do know when the second season of Solar Opposites will drop. Hulu has released a new red-band teaser trailer for the upcoming season of the animated comedy which announces that Solar Opposites will return to Hulu on March 26th.

Solar Opposites was created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan and centers around a group of aliens who crash land in suburban America after fleeing their exploding home-world. In between adjusting to life on Earth, Korvo (Justin Roiland), Terry (Thomas Middleditch), Jesse (Mary Mack), and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) must protect Pupa, a living super-computer who will one day evolve into its true form and terraform the Earth. Although I am definitely a fan of Rick and Morty, I wasn't sure what to expect from Solar Opposites, but I wound up enjoying the first season quite a lot, even more than Rick and Morty in some ways; Sacrilege? Possibly.

The official synopsis for Solar Opposites:

Co-created by Justin Roiland (Rick & Morty) and Mike McMahan (ex-writer's assistant on Rick & Morty), Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who escape their exploding home world only to crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food and fun stuff. Their mission: protect the Pupa, a living super computer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth. On season two of Solar Opposites, the Solar Opposites take it bigger, funnier, and more opposite than ever before.

As I mentioned above, the second season of Solar Opposites will debut on Hulu on March 26, 2021.
