Some familiar faces and new cast-members join John Wick 2

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

As production begins on JOHN WICK 2 in New York City, the cast of the action sequel has come together with several more faces, some familiar and some new. On top of the previously announced cast additions Common and Ian McShane, we now have confirmation that JOHN WICK cast-members John Leguizamo, Bridget Moynihan, Tom Sadowski, and Lance Reddick will be back in the sequel. New cast include Ruby Rose (RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER), Riccardo Scamarcio (BURNT) and Peter Stormare (FARGO).

The plot of JOHN WICK 2 is being kept secret but Deadline does confirm that shooting will take place in New York followed by sequences filmed in Rome. JOHN WICK co-directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski will both produce the sequel while only Stahelski will have directing duties on JOHN WICK 2.

The first film was a sleeper hit when it was released last year, pulling Keanu Reeves back into the spotlight after several years bordering on the Redbox circuit. The former MATRIX star seemed on the verge of bouncing back to the A-list and here's hoping JOHN WICK 2 will continue that ascent. Wick doesn't have another wife or dog to kickstart another violent revenge spree, but the fact that Bridgit Moynihan is back to play his deceased wife could mean the former assassin has stumbled across more about her past.

JOHN WICK 2 does not currently have a release date but I would expect to see it Fall 2016 at the latest.
