We all have regrets. Not a single person is devoid of something from their past that they wish they had never done. Hollywood actors are no different. Often, they know just as well as we do that it was a mistake to take a particular role. They would never say it during the press junkets promoting the film, but once it has been released and some time has gone by, they can certainly open up about how much went wrong with a particular movie.

Taking a cue from Mandy Pantinkin’s recent rips regarding the television series CRIMINAL MINDS, Pajiba has compiled a list of 12 actors voicing their opinion on some projects the rest of us knew sucked the moment the trailer hit. Here are some highlights, but head over here for the full list.

Bob Hoskins – SUPER MARIO BROS

What is the worst job you’ve done? SUPER MARIO BROS.

What has been your biggest disappointment? SUPER MARIO BROS.

If you could edit your past, what would you change? I wouldn’t do SUPER MARIO BROS.

George Clooney – BATMAN & ROBIN

BATMAN & ROBIN was a disaster, rife with homoeroticism, camp, and those infamous Bat-nipples. Clooney once joked that he helped to kill the franchise. “Joel Schumacher told me we never made another Batman film because Batman was gay.” The actor also called the movie “a waste of money.”

Mark Wahlberg – THE HAPPENING

“I was such a huge fan of [Amy Adams]. We’d actually had the luxury of having lunch before to talk about another movie, and it was a bad movie that I did. She dodged the bullet. I don’t want to tell you what movie…alright, THE HAPPENING with M. Night Shyamalan. It is was it is. F*cking trees, man, the plants. F*ck it. You can’t blame me for wanting to try to play a science teacher, you know? I wasn’t playing a cop or a crook.”

Orson Welles – TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE

Welles hated working on TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE, where he voiced Unicron. When asked about the film, he not only couldn’t remember the name of his character, but he described the film as “I play a big toy who attacks a bunch of smaller toys.”
