Sony horror shuffle

News today coming out of Sony land involving two of its upcoming horror films doesn’t look so good.

First up is a new release date for the Pang bros. film THE MESSENGERS, which Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures is helping out on. The film was scheduled to be released this January, however the film has now been bumped back to February 2nd, which doesn’t bode well for the film, since anyone who knows Hollywood knows that these months are the times when studios dump the films they deem, for the lack of a better term, ‘weak’. Too bad, since the Pang’s RE-CYCLE kicked all kinds of ass and shows that these dudes know their stuff.

Lastly is WIND CHILL, which is being directed by Greg Jacobs. Unlike THE MESSENGERS, this one has been wiped off the map completely! No release date, period. The film had done some shooting in and around British Columbia in February and March, but other than that, nothing else has come of it. The film, which stars Emily Blunt and Ashton Holmes, revolves around two college students sharing a ride home for the holidays, whose car breaks down on a deserted stretch of road and are menaced by the ghosts of all those who died there. Stay tuned.
