Sony has announced the release date for two of its upcoming horror themed releases. I say themed, because neither of them are straight fright flicks. The sequel to the surprisingly popular UNDERWORLD will be released November 23rd, 2005. I have to admit that I went into the original fairly reluctantly. I mean, werewolf vs. vampire + romeo& juliet = crap, right? I was knocked out of my seat, though. The depth of character development, the ancient themes of family wrongs, plus some great f/x made for one kick ass time. They also laid the groundwork so that a sequel was necessary, instead of just possible.
The second release date news concerns the EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE. In the film Laura Linney will play an attorney who defends a Catholic priest charged with the negligent homicide of a 19-year-old girl whose exorcism he presided over. That will come out September 9th, 2005.
