Sony Screen Gems’ Priest, Underworld 4 & Takers all get release push backs

Looks like we’ve got some disheartening release date news this evening.

According to erc BoxOffice, two higher profile genre films that were to release this year have gotten the back burner treatment, with one goofy ass actioner receiving the same. Dig it…

Scott Stewart’s second religiously tinged horror flick, PRIEST, has been bumped from August 20th to a January 14, 2011 theatrical slate. Not only that, Screen Gems has predictably decided to exhibit the film in 3D. I know, I know…shocking!

And with the recent news of Kate Beckinsale signing onto a 4th UNDERWORLD film, the following tidbit is actually a bit surprising. Turns out UNDERWORLD 4 is being moved back from January 21, 2011 to September 23, 2011, and will NO LONGER be released in 3D as many prior reports have posited.

But that’s not all, folks. Remember that wacky ass action flick TAKERS we lambasted for rockin’ perhaps the worst photo shop job ever? Well it seems that flick is also being delayed from May 15 to August 20, 2010.

WTF?

So what do ya make of all this shuffling? How about the 3D addition of PRIEST or the 3D subtraction of UNDERWORLD 4? Kinda odd, no?

Spit a clip below!

Beckinsale, who else?!?
