Sorority of the Damned: Felissa Rose takes on a ‘cool’ role in horror comedy

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Roy Knyrim of SOTA FX and actor Joe Davison are teaming up to direct a horror comedy titled Sorority of the Damned. Davison will also be taking on an acting role in the film, and the directors have cast a genre icon to share the screen with him: Sleepaway Camp's Felissa Rose.

Davison, who previously wrote the "killer clown gorefest" 100 Tears, has written Sorority of the Damned with Jeremy Lester. In the film, Davison will be playing

a hapless handyman who unwillingly continues the family tradition and reluctantly fights the supernatural, with the help of some sexy sorority girls.

Knyrim and Davison told Rue Morgue that 90% of the effects in the film will be practical, with Knyrim overseeing the FX work and monster designs. Marcel Banks is keying the creature and gore effects, and Kenneth Hall is sculpting "a kick-ass living statue creature".

Speaking with Bloody-Disgusting, Rose said she is "obsessed with the script".

I love it. … I'm fortunately playing a really cool character. When you read a script, it's always exciting to look at what's on the page and get all excited about creating something that you haven't before. That just drives me wild when I can do something different."

This sounds like it's off to a promising start. We'll keep you updated on Sorority of the Damned as it continues to move forward.
