While it seems like there’s nothing new under the sun when it comes to found footage movies, it’s still worth seeking out projects that attempt to try a little something different with the weary genre. You might just stumble upon a pic like SPECTER which is, as the official Facebook page puts it, a supernatural thriller containing real natural disasters intertwined with a narrative story.

Today we’ve got the trailer for SPECTER, which you can see below. It contains a few striking images, and the chaos brought about the natural disasters adds some eerie atmosphere. Not easy to see how it all comes together yet, but for now we’re certainly intrigued.

The synopsis: The town of Midground is threatened by a tsunami caused by a massive earthquake in the North Pacific Ocean. After other unexplainable events transpire, Chase Lombardi and friends are forced to discover whether they are experiencing a natural phenomenon or something else all together.

The thriller was directed by Jordan Graham; the cast includes Joseph Patron, Michael Daniel, Jordan Graham, Gabriel Nicholson, Rachel Johnson, Carey Nieto, Heather Odegard and Alyssa Tselepis. SPECTER is currently in post-production and seeking a distributor.
