Unfortunately it seems like it’s definitely happening people – Spike Lee is remaking/rebooting OLDBOY. Unlike the Steven Spielberg/Will Smith attempt on the film it seems Spike Lee’s is moving right along. I mean exactly a month ago we learned that Josh Brolin would indeed be starring in the thing and now we’ve got word on who Lee wants as the female lead.

According to Twitch the director is eyeing GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO actress Rooney Mara for the female lead in OLDBOY. No offers have been made just yet but I’d assume it’s just a matter of time if Lee wants her bad enough.

After being kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years, Joe (Josh Brolin) is released, only to find that he must find his captor in 5 days.

Seems to me like Rooney Mara would be a perfect fit here, wouldn’t you say? We’ll of course be keeping a close eye on this one and as soon as any other OLDBOY updates come rolling our way you can bet we’ll be right here to pass them along to all of you.
