As the days tick by, there's a part of me that can't believe we need to wait until May 5, 2017 to see GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. I just want to be in my theater seat already; nodding my head as a no-doubt killer soundtrack comes booming in, while Star-Lord, Gamora, and the rest of the team go toe-to-toe with intergalactic threats unlike the Marvel universe has ever seen before on-screen. In fact, I don't even mind the barrage of photos, clips, and content that keep pouring in for this film. Normally, I shy away after viewing an official trailer or two, but not this time.
Today, two cool, new images have arrived online that are sure to get you pumped for the release of Marvel's forthcoming sci-fi action sequel. The first comes from the newest issue of Empire magazine (on sale next week), which features both Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Drax (Dave Bautista) looking rather buff and gearing up for a fight. You've got to love that determined look on Peter's face, and oh man, that gun that Drax is holding is pretty damn sweet as well. I'm sure he'll be blowing new holes in lots of things with that bad boy!
While participating in an interview with Empire, Chris Pratt offered some comments regarding what fans can expect when the new film lands in theaters:
You can expect to see everything you loved in the first movie, but you’re also going to… but it… oh, I should rephrase that. Don’t expect to see everything you saw in the first movie. But expect to be charmed and thrilled and entertained like you were watching the first movie.
Pratt then spoke on the experience of playing opposite Kurt Russell, and described the opportunity as "humbling and exceptional. He’s surpassed any expectation I could have had."
Additionally, earlier this morning, director James Gunn posted this sweet Japanese GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 poster to his Twitter account that features Baby Groot getting up to no good. Just look at the smile on his face! He will be the death of us all for sure, but it's hard to stay mad when he's just so damn adorable.
