Are you guys aware that Halo-8 are working on an illustrated film based on HACK/SLASH? We actually announced that shite nearly a year ago so it’s understandable if you’ve forgotten all about it. That’s why I’m here to update you all on the project today!

Not only am I here to remind you all about this thing, but I’m also here to drop the news that Halo-8 are planning a huge announcement regarding the HACK/SLASH illustrated flick at Comic-Con! What’s the announcement? How about who will be starring in the film as ‘Cassie Hack?!’ Apparently the actress they’ve chosen will already be at Comic-Con for another genre flick she’s in, so chances are we’re very familiar with her. Oh yeah, that’s just happened.

The HACK/SLASH illustrated film mixes comic book sequential art with 3D CGI and, in a new twist for Halo-8, rotoscoped animation of live-action performances. It’s currently in production. Scope out a bit of what director Matt Pizzolo, who is also designing the visual style for the film, had to say regarding the secret star:

“Cassie is a great role and there are a lot of established actresses who’d love to bring her to life. We feel really blessed by the actress we’ve selected to take on the role–not only is she a fan-favorite but she herself is a fan of Tim [Seeley], Cassie, and Vlad. With Hack/Slash, we’re working more with green screen and roto-style animation, so this actress will literally be taking on Cassie’s skin.”

So who do you think it could be? Let the theories fly below and as always as soon as we get word on who the secret actress is we’ll be sure to pass the good word along to all of you!
