Star Trek Beyond adds About Time’s Lydia Wilson to its cast

Star Trek Beyond Justin Lin Lydia Wilson Banner

Variety is reporting that Lydia Wilson has been cast in STAR TREK BEYOND, but like Idris Elba, there's no details on her role. Wilson only has two feature film credits to her name (ABOUT TIME and NEVER LET ME GO), however Black Mirror fans will recognize her as Princess Susannah from "The National Anthem" episode, and she also starred as Mimi Morton on the British series Ripper Street.

Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin will be back for threequel, and newcomers to the franchise include Elba as the film's villain, Sofia Boutella (KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE) and Joe Taslim (THE RAID). FAST & FURIOUS 6's Justin Lin is directing STAR TREK BEYOND from a script by Doug Jung and Pegg, and principal photography kicked off earlier this summer in British Columbia. The STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS sequel will also reportedly be filming in Seoul, South Korea and Dubai.

STAR TREK BEYOND is set to open on July 8, 2016.
